So what will be the top website trends for 2020?
Mark looks ahead and shares his predictions for website trends and how they can work for your new business website.
The colour of 2020
Each year the colour experts at Pantone decide which shade is THE colour of the year. And for 2020 one of our favourites has been chosen – Classic Blue. We love it so much in fact that Classic Blue is one of our solutionsPro brand colours!
According to psychology research rich blue shades represent trustworthiness, confidence and intelligence – making it a great choice for any business brand online. The Classic Blue shade also looks great on a website, adding strong colour but not being overwhelming or too hard to read on a screen.
However, the important thing to keep in mind when you are thinking about your brand and website colours, is to not to be led by trend colours that aren’t right for your business. For instance the cool neon colours look amazing on a trendy clothes retailer website, but won’t work for a traditional sofa company. Our team will advise you on colour palettes and incorporate your brand colours in to your website – this helps customers engage online.
Split content
Any business website will hold a vast amount of content – such as product information, delivery options, about us section and services available. All website content is important and you want to ensure your key messages are clear for the user and your customers can easily find what they are looking for online.
Split content is a simple and organised way to achieve this, and works particularly well on website homepages. It means that key content is presented in a stylish and effective way, perhaps 3 boxes with eye catching image highlighting the customer can click on it to view that section.
Mobile Responsive
This trend has been mentioned the past few years, and trust us it’s not going away! By the end of 2019 it is predicted that globally 63% of all mobile phone users will primarily use their phone to access the internet – which is why mobile responsive website design is more important than ever in 2020.
Mobile responsive website design (also called mobile friendly) means your website will resize to the screen being used – mobile phone, iPad, laptop or computer. A mobile responsive design ensures whatever device the customer is using, your website still looks great and is easy to use. This is vital for a online business websites as you want your customers to easily browse and order online – otherwise they will simply go and find a competitors website that is better.
Our specialist design team at solutionsPro create every website from day one with mobile responsive in mind; keeping your customers experience and Google best practices in mind. As mobile responsive is so important, we include mobile responsive in your monthly website package as standard.

Interactive websites
This one may sound a bit strange to begin with, how can a website be interactive? But with some simple tools and clever styling your website can be more interactive – which improves your customers experience and encourages them to stay on your website longer.
So what is an interactive website I hear you ask? This is where key actions, sections or buttons are inertactive; for example if you hover on a Call Now button on the website, it changes colour. This says to the customer ‘ yes! Press me! I’m important!’.
Bold colour blocks
We love this website trend – using eye catching colour to help separate text or sections on your website. Bold colour block work great on the homepage but also on other main website pages.
The great thing with solutionsPro website is we don't work from templates so we don't have the same restictions as some website builders. Our graphic designers start with a blank canvas, so that we can design your bespoke website and layout to suit your exact needs.
